SP2000

Stereo Preamplifier

The SP2000 preamplifier represents the evolution of the SP1000 design but with the addition of features that place it at the top of its class.
The device is totally governed by a microprocessor and although it is powered by batteries of supercapacitors like the SP1000, it can operate indefinitely thanks to the adoption of two power banks that are switched during operation.
The outstanding sonic characteristics of the SP1000, are here further enhanced by the adoption of a discrete-component volume control that uses very high-precision resistors and independent relays for the two channels;
this also allows the balance between them to be set.
The unit has an OLED screen that displays various operating information such as volume, balance, selected input and output.
Through the control buttons it is possible to set the name to be given to each input such as CD,DAC,TV, etc.
The preamplifier has unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR inputs and both RCA and balanced outputs. The RCA and XLR outputs can can work simultaneously.
Optionally, a RIAA PHONO input for MM cartridges can be installed.

SUPERCAPACITORS

Advantages of their application

The capacitors can completely discharge without suffering any damage and during charging they do not emit any type of gas or exhalation of any kind.
Charging time of a supercapacitor could in theory be almost zero but for reasons related to the charging current (a discharged capacitor is a short circuit) it is lengthened to allow reasonable values of the current itself.

The use of supercapacitors eliminates all problems related to the life of the batteries as well as their charging method.

From a sonic point of view, this preamp guarantees an extremely detailed, transparent and dynamic sound.
It is advisable to use with high or very high quality sources so that they can sound their best especially with regard to dynamics and detail.
The preamplifier in fact does not add or subtract anything to the sound of the source so a mediocre recording will result in a mediocre sound.
The preamplifier is constructed entirely of painted metal and features a backlit glass front panel.
